THE OBJECTIVE

Replacing an Aging, Leaking Roof in Canton

This Canton home’s roofing system had reached the end of its life. Age, leaks, and general wear and tear had caught up with it, and the home needed a full replacement. Tear-off revealed just how long the problem had been building: seven separate layers of roofing, the oldest being wood shake dating back to 1910.

THE JOB

Seven-Layer Tear-Off and a Skyland Elite Package Upgrade

We performed a full residential roof replacement, tearing off all seven existing layers. Because the original structure used spaced slat decking, we re-decked the home before any new material went down. Both chimneys were also removed.

The home was re-roofed with our Skyland Elite Package, featuring Malarkey Vista AR shingles in Brilliant Black — the first ever installation of this material in all of North Carolina. Skyland Roofing is proud to be the company that brought it to the state.

Hips and ridges were finished with Malarkey EZ Ridge High Profile hip and ridge shingles, and the system was completed with a Ridge Vent upgrade and Custom Drip Edge.

The Elite Package also includes an Ice & Water Shield upgrade covering the perimeter, valleys, low slopes, and all roof penetrations, along with upgraded Lifetime Pipe Boots. The property was protected throughout with our Catch-All Property Protection System.
